Salazar Upped To APD @ The Beat/Dallas

• Free cookies in the lobby of Radio One Urban KBFB (97.9 The Beat)/Dallas indicates someone just got promoted — the big winner is MD/afternoon drive personality Jesse Salazar, who has been awarded full functional APD stripes. In making the announcement, Mark McCray, VP of Programming & Operations of Radio One Dallas said, “Jesse has the experience, attitude and work ethic that makes his graduation to APD an easy decision.”

Salazar, who earlier in his career was known as “Boy Loco,” joined KBFB in 2013 as midday personality, and was upped to MD a year later. Last year he was moved up to PM drive. His earlier stops include WLLD/TampaKKFR/Phoenix and KQBT/Austin (where he worked with a certain Mr. Mark McCray).
