Salem Makes Executive Moves
• Salem Media Group, Inc. made three executive announcements earlier this week — two internal promotions and one new addition. The action begins with the elevation of Chris Gould, who is upped from VP of National Programming, to Senior Vice President, National Programming. In his newly enhanced role Gould is responsible for the placement of national ministry programs on Salem’s 48 Teach and Talk radio stations.
Gould (left) is a 16-year Salem veteran who started as GM of the company’s Tampa cluster. In making the announcement of Gould’s promotion, Dave Santrella, Salem’s President of Broadcast Media said, “Chris has done a phenomenal job carrying out the responsibilities in his position and this promotion to Senior Vice President status is acknowledgement of Chris’ value to our company and our deep appreciation for all that he does.”
And there’s more — Mark Durkin (center) has been promoted from General Manager of Salem’s Sacramento group to Regional Vice President. In addition to his continued responsibilities over Sacramento, Durkin now annexes oversight of the company’s properties in San Francisco, Seattle and Oxnard, CA. And in sunny South Florida, Franc Boza (right) is the newly named GM of Salem’s Miami cluster. Boza joins Salem from Deadcenter Marketing, where he was VP of Sales and Marketing. Prior to that he held a variety of roles in broadcast and sports marketing.
