Harper A Strong Island Move For JVC
JVC has been in rapid staff expansion mode of late, continuing the company’s strategy of live, local and fun radio, and Harper’s hire is just the latest chapter. Harper’s four-decade radio career — all of it spent on Long Island — began at the age of 17, when he became the youngest afternoon drive announcer in America on WYFA 1580. From there it was onto Top 40 WBLI, where he reigned for over two and a half decades, followed by stints at WBEA (101.7 The Beach)and 92.9 WEHM, and most recently, a decade in mornings on Connoisseur Media AC WKJY (K-98.3)/Long Island until last November.
Harper remarked, “I’m thrilled to be part of such a dynamic, live and local radio organization like JVC Broadcasting, and I’m looking forward to helping JVC continue to grow and prosper.”
