Pros On The Loose: Mike Klein

• Yesterday it was announced that Maurice DeVoe had been named as the new Operations Manager of SummitMedia’s four-station group in Greenville, SC — Urban WJMZ (107.3 Jamz), Rhythmic WHZT (Hot 98.1), Alternative X98.5 (WJMZ-HD2) and Adult Hits 99.5 Jack FM (WJMZ-HD3). He succeeds Mike Klein, who exits after four years and is now an in-demand free agent.

Klein joined SummitMedia Greenville in June 2016, and over the course of four years achieved the highest ratings in the history of WJMZ, which is currently No. 1 12+ and persons 25-54. He also built a franchise morning show, Dex and Barbie T, on Hot 98.1, which is now heard in Greenville, Knoxville and Honolulu.

Klein’s previous programming resume includes Radio One Top 40 WNOW (RadioNow 100.9)/Indianapolis, Entercom Rhythmic WNVZ (Z104)/Norfolk and iHeartMedia’s WBVD/Melbourne & WNRW (Radio Now 98.9) & WLGX (Gen X Radio 100.5)/Louisville. His dulcet tones have also been enjoyed for many years on Z100/New York, WFLZ/Tampa and WIHT (Hot 99.5) & WMZQ/Washington.
