Abrams Returns To Cumulus Albuquerque
• Kris Abrams is coming back home to Cumulus Media Albuquerque, NM and reclaiming his former position as FM Operations Manager of the cluster’s five FMs and PD of Country KRST (NASH FM 92.3), Classic Country KBZU (96.3 NASH Icon) and Adult Hits KDRF (103.3 eD FM). The group also includes Top 40 KKOB (93.3 KOB FM) and AC KMGA (Magic 99.5). The FM Ops position has been vacant since Brad Hansen resigned in November 2018.
This marks a most welcome return to Albuquerque — and former gig — for Abrams, who joined Futuri Media as Director/Partner Integration in March 2016.
A visibly excited Jeff Berry, VP/Market Manager, Cumulus Albuquerque, remarked, “I’m so excited to announce the return of Kris Abrams to ABQ. He has a strong history with and passion for these stations, our company and Albuquerque. We’re looking forward to having Kris’ extensive product knowledge, experience and leadership skills back in our building and at work for our listeners and advertisers.”
Abrams commented, “I could not be more excited about resuming a partnership with Jeff Berry and the talented Cumulus Albuquerque team. I am blessed to return to a city I have come to love and am proud to call home. And, it’s a great radio playground. The Cumulus FMs not only have great heritage but all are the market leaders in their formats with plenty of room for growth.”
Abrams’ extensive radio resume also includes a stint as OM of iHeartMedia’s six-station Jacksonville cluster; PD of Greater Media Hot AC WLNK (107.9 The Link)/Charlotte; OM of CBS Radio Phoenix and PD of KOOL-FM; OM of Citadel Albuquerque and PD posts at WRIT/Milwaukee and WMQX/Greensboro, to name a few.
