Tim Leary Has Other Plans
• On Tuesday RAMP shared the big news that Hubbard Radio Country KNUC (98.9 The Bull)/Seattle was bringing in new PD Scott Mahalick and market vet Fitz to do mornings, replacing the existing Tim, Red & Claire morning show.
It was concurrently announced that co-host Claire Beverly would remain in mornings to work with the new Fitz show, Karen “Red” Daiss was leaving the station and morning anchor Tim Leary would move to afternoon drive. Since that initial report, however, circumstances have changed, as Leary took to Facebook to announce that he has opted out of the offer, saying, in part, “Officially, I am not taking over afternoons on 98-9 The Bull. A difficult choice, but I have decided to pass on the offer in pursuit of other opportunities. I wanted to stop here and say from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU to every single one of you! From the moment I stepped foot in Seattle, you have made me, Karen, and the kids feel so welcome and so at home… I can’t tell you how much it means to us personally!”
FUN FACT: Leary is a former RAMP Leap Of The Week™ winner in April 2018 when he, Red and Claire — then known asTim Leary & The Showgram — made the sizeable upward jump from Alpha Media Country WUBB (Bob 106.9)/Savannah, GA(Market 146) to Seattle (Market 12).
Leary’s previous Country radio stops include WGAR/Cleveland, WCTK (Cat Country 98.1)/Providence and KUUB (Cub Country 94.5)/Reno, NV. He can now be reached at 775-247-3466 or timlearyradio@gmail.com.
