Kross To Run RadioNOW Indy & Houston
• Radio One has inked Dustin Kross as the company’s new Top 40 Format Director. In his new role, Kross will oversee the company’s Top 40 brands and directly oversee Top 40 duo WNOW (RadioNOW 100.9)/Indianapolis and KROI (RadioNOW 92.1)/Houston. He will also guide and develop the company’s roster of on-air personalities in both markets. He succeeds Charese Frugé, who recently left the company to focus on her voiceover business.
Kross arrives from Dallas, where he spent the past three years and change programming Cumulus Top 40 KLIF-FM (Hot 93.3). His previous programming department stops include a stint as APD/mornings for former CBS Radio Top 40 WJHM (101.9 AMP Radio)/Orlando and APD/afternoons for iHeartMedia’s WNWW (97.9 Kiss-FM)/Jacksonville.
In making the announcement, Radio One VP of Programming Colby “Colb” Tyner said, “We are excited to be working with Dustin — his expertise and passion for the Top 40 format is just what we need in Houston and Indy.”
Fun Fact: WNOW is the flagship station of Joe and Alex morning show, which airs on both RadioNOW stations in Indianapolis and Houston. Kross commented, “I’m extremely excited to join the Radio One team and oversee both the RadioNOW brands in Indy and Houston! Big thanks to Mark McCray, Colby Colb, Deon Levingston and Pam McKay for this great opportunity.”
