WiLD 95.5 Welcomes Hanson, Ups Carmine
• Busy day in the hallways of iHeartMedia Top 40 WLDI (WiLD 95.5)/West Palm Beach, what with the arrival of South Florida broadcast pro Dave Hanson and the promotion of night jock Carmine Gialanella.
Let’s start with Mr. Hanson (left), who has been named Creative Services Director of WiLD 95.5. In his new post, Hanson will help shape and deliver station imaging, and promotional, digital, and social content. Hanson segues from Cox Media Group Miami, where he was most recently Assistant Director of Branding and Programming and Music Director of Top 40 WFLC (HITS 97.3). He previously served as Music Director for CMG Soft AC WFEZ (Easy 93.1)/Miami and its earlier incarnations as WPYM (Party 93.1) and WHDR (93 Rock). Hanson began his career at WKTU/New York in 1996.
Hanson reports to Rad Messick, SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia West Palm Beach, who said, “Dave’s track record across multiple formats in South Florida is outstanding. We’re excited to tap Dave’s skills, passion, and creative energy to create highly entertaining content that deepens our WiLD 95.5 audience connection.” Hanson remarked, “I’m extremely excited for the opportunity to make the move just an hour north, from Miami to West Palm Beach, to grab the creative reins and join such a supportive and innovative team at iHeartMedia WPB! It’s an honor to wave the flag of the legendary WiLD 95.5 — The Palm Beaches’ #1 HIT Music Station!” Hanson can now be reached at DaveHanson@iheartmedia.com.
• Down the hall, there is further reason to celebrate, as Carmine Gialanella is upgraded from nights to afternoon drive. Gialanella (left) is a true homegrown radio success story — he started his career at WLDI as an intern and later, Promotion Assistant in 2010. He worked his way up to fulltime 7-midnight personality.
Rad Messick commented, “Carmine’s the ultimate team player for WiLD 95.5; his enthusiasm and commitment is second-to-none. It’s a thrill to reward his performance with this well-deserved new afternoon opportunity.” Gialanella said, “From the first moment I cracked the mic I knew this was it, my life would never be the same. To be in the position I’ve dreamed of in the place it all started is surreal. I’m excited for the opportunity and next chapter of my radio life.”
