Afternoons Open At 100.7/San Diego
• RAMP has confirmed that TEGNA Adult Hits KFMB-FM (100.7)/San Diego has parted company with afternoon personality Mikey Esparza as his contract was not renewed. PD Mike Vasquez has now launched the search for a replacement.
100.7 is looking for someone who is authentic and transparent — and not afraid of sharing the “real you” with the audience. We want positive personalities, with a great sense of humor and the desire to lift people up. If you’re confident that you can contribute to the success of our radio station by entertaining our audience in beautiful San Diego, we want to hear from you. Remote voice-trackers need not apply. Qualified candidates are invited to apply online via the TEGNA Careers portal.
Esparza (left) is a 30-plus-year radio vet who joined 100.7 for afternoons in July 2017. Vasquez joined him for six months to form The Mikey & V Show, but Esparza had been flying solo for the past year. He previously did mornings on Lincoln Financial (now Entercom) Alternative KBZT (FM 94/9)/San Diego until March 2012 and also spent 5 1/2 years in mornings on iHeartMedia Active Rock KIOZ/San Diego. He also hosted the nationally syndicated Rock All Night for a few years. Esparza began his radio career at KFOX/Tucson, and has also worked at KEGL/Dallas and KSJO/San Jose, to name a few.
Mikey is now seeking his next radio adventure and can be reached at 858-245-8547 or myarmor@me.com.
