Powers Ready To Walk The Earth

• iHeartMedia Alternative KTBZ (94-5 The Buzz)/Houston has a rare opening for a morning co-host, as Dinah Powers announced her impending departure at the end of August after seven years co-piloting The Rod Ryan Show.

Ms. Powers told RAMP it was just time to turn the page, as she explained, “Radio is not losing me to the real world quite yet. I’m taking some time off to travel and complete my bachelor’s degree, and then I will see what happens next. All I know is, I was ready for a break and a reassessment of my life’s trajectory. I figured I’m still young (ish), so why the hell not now?”

Buzz PD Elliott Wood told us, “We hate for Dinah to move on out of the industry, but she has her eyes on other things. She’s fantastic and we offered her everything from cash to puppies to stay. I’m sure that getting up in the wee hours can be a grind and she has hit so many personal goals at the station and is riding the wave at the top of the ratings. It will be hard to replace her, no doubt.” Wood added, “We are looking for someone with the passion to work to win in a big radio market. We have no insiders lined up to take the position — we are truly digging and trying to find that talent that ‘gets’ radio and can contribute to a successful team.”

Here are the basics of the job posting: “Rare opportunity to work at a Great Rock/Alternative station in a great city as part of one of America’s great morning shows! 94-5 The Buzz in Houston is searching for a talented on-air co-host to work hard, play hard and laugh hard making history on The Rod Ryan Show, 6-10am Monday through Friday.” The complete job posted is now showing on iHeartMedia Careers Portal of Destiny™ (Req.#18500). Apply now!

In the meantime, your good wishes can be shared with Dinah at Dinah@thebuzz.com.
