Denver Turns To Big Al & JoJo
• iHeartMedia Denver’s News-Talk-Sports outlet KOA (850 AM & 94.1 FM), “The Voice of Colorado” announced the launch of a new afternoon drive show — Big Al & JoJo will roll weekdays from 3-7pm, with a launch date of Tuesday, Sept. 3.
“Big Al” is legendary Broncos great Alfred “Big Al” Williams (left),and his co-host is none other than JoJo Turnbeaugh (right),who will retain his regular day job as Regional SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Denver. The new show will focus on the Denver Broncos, University of Colorado Buffaloes and Colorado Rockies, along with other top sports stories and whatnot.
Big Al was a standout linebacker for the University of Colorado and went on to play in the NFL. He retired with the Denver Broncos after winning back-to-back Super Bowls in 1997 & 1998 and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2010. Williams most recently worked across the street at Bonneville’s KKFN (104.3 The Fan) until March, and just finished sitting out his non-compete.
“There’s no bigger voice and no bigger laugh in afternoon radio than Alfred Williams,” said Tim Hager, Market President of iHeartMedia Denver. “We are honored to welcome Big Al and his legions of fans to KOA 850 AM & 94.1 FM. Big Al joins an expanded live and local lineup that truly embodies KOA’s new slogan, ‘The Voice of Colorado.'”
