Preston Ready For What’s Next

Preston MikeAfter seven great years with Entercom Seattle, programming Country KKWF (100.7 The Wolf) and launching and programming KHTP (Hot 103.7), it was announced that Mike Preston has decided to move on to his next chapter in radio, effective February 28. Preston had been in the building since November of 2009. Before that he served as VP of Programming for CBS Radio San Francisco. No stranger to the Seattle market, Preston previously spent nine years there programming CBS Radio Top 40 KBKS while also serving as the company’s VP of CHR Programming. He’s also known and loved for his many years at WPLJ/New York back in the day, working with Scott Shannon and Tom Cuddy.

Preston commented, “As the great singer Sheryl Crow once said, ‘A Change Would Do You Good,’ and for me, that’s an appropriate theme song. That’s because after a little more than seven years at Entercom Seattle, I’m ready for a change. I’m very proud of what my teams have accomplished, making The Wolf the top country brand in the market and putting our newest brand, Hot 103.7, on the map in a big way. I’m grateful to Jack Hutchison, Dave Richards, Pat Paxton and Mike Moore for the opportunity to put Country ‘under my belt’ and to pioneer the Classic Hip-Hop and R&B format.” Going forward, Mr. Preston can be reached at 206-979-2500 and/or pljpreston@aol.com.

Entercom Seattle VP of Programming Dave Richards will oversee both stations in the interim, but the search is now underway for the next leader of Hot 103.7 and 100.7 The Wolf. Qualified PD applicants can view the openings and apply online at Entercom.com/careers.
