Moving Day At Amaturo Sonoma Santa Rosa
• Amaturo Sonoma Media in beautiful Santa Rosa, CA promotes from within the family, and elevates Eloy Camacho from afternoons to APD and morning host on Top 40 KHTH (Hot 101.7). At the same time, VP of Programming & Ops Jim Murphy annexes KHTH PD stripes.
The moves come as now former Hot 101.7 PD/morning co-host Kendra Rohr and her on-air partner Ross (a.k.a. “Taco“) are hired away to do mornings at Midwest Communications Country KVOX (Froggy 99.9) in the already frozen tundra of Fargo, ND. Murphy said, “We wish Kendra and Taco the best. Yet again, a top operator in a robust radio market has recruited their next morning show from our independent, locally owned cluster. We’re very proud of all of them.”
Commenting on his decision to promote Camacho (pictured), Murphy said, “Eloy has earned this opportunity at Hot 101.7, having come up through the ranks here from college intern, to promotions assistant, to Promotions Director/afternoons and now to APD/mornings. He lives the lifestyle of Top 40 and is an ideal fit for his new role.” It was concurrently announced that, courtesy of a special agreement, Jeff Woodworth from News-Talk sister KSRO will now handle Hot 101.7 middays, while Amber Henderson from KFGY (Froggy 92.9) will inherit the Hot 101.7 afternoon show.
