Steve & Leeana Carpool To The Party

• JVC Media is proud to announce the radio reunion of Long Island’s own Steve and Leeana in morning drive on Rhythmic WPTY (Party 105.3)/Long Island, starting Monday, February 10. Steve Harper and Leeana Karlson have been waking up the market for years, most recently as morning co-hosts for more than seven years over on Connoisseur Media AC WKJY (K-98.3).

“The new Party 105 morning show will be fun, locally focused and family-friendly,” said Bruce Shepard, VP/GM of JVC Broadcasting New York. He added, “Steve and Leeana both live on Long Island, unlike other shows in the market.” JVC Media President & CEO John Caracciolo commented, “This is live, local and hometown radio the way it is supposed to be — we’re not phoning it in. To say you are live and local isn’t enough; the radio personalities have to be involved in the community, involved in local charities and events and become ambassadors for the radio station. There is no better team to do this than Steve and Leeana.”

Harper’s four-decade radio career — all of it spent on Long Island — began at the age of 17 as the youngest afternoon drive talent in America on WYFA 1580. From there it was onto Top 40 WBLI, where he reigned for over two and a half decades, followed by stints at WBEA (101.7 The Beach) and 92.9 WEHM, and more recently, a decade in mornings on Connoisseur Media AC WKJY (K-98.3). He joined JVC in Feb. 2019 to do afternoons on Oldies 98.1 (W251BY/WPTY-HD2).

Leeana said, “I can’t wait to get started. This is going to be a fun local show with tons of listener interaction. Starting your day can be a challenge, especially on Long Island, but we are going to make it a little easier and a lot more entertaining.”
