Karolyi Ready To Rock Albany
• Townsquare Classic Rock WQBK (Q105.7)/Albany, NY has tapped veteran Classic Rock programmer Mike Karolyi as the station’s new Brand Manager. That position was formerly held by OM Steve Richards, who exited in August. Karolyi famously spent 25 years at the late, legendary Classic Rock WCCC/Hartford until August 2014, when the station was sold to EMF and signed off. More recently Karolyi had been running online rock station iRockRadio.com.
“I’m honored to join WQBK as Brand Manager,” Karolyi said. From my first conversations with [SVP of Programming] Kurt Johnson, [Market President] Kevin Rich and [Director of Content] Matty Jeff, I have felt like a part of the Townsquare Media family. Now it’s time to Rock Albany and the Capital Region.”
Matty Jeff said, “We are so excited to have Mike joining our local team here in Albany. His Classic Rock expertise and acumen are going to take Q105.7 to… the next levelÔ.” Kevin Rich added, “I’m thrilled to have Mike join our team here in Albany! He’s extremely talented and will make the Q105.7 brand even stronger.”
