Ready To Drive L.A. Home?
• iHeartMedia’s KYSR (ALT 98.7)/Los Angeles, “L.A.’s NEW Alternative,” has issued an interplanetary call to find its next afternoon drive superstar! You will succeed Andrew Harms, who recently joined Amazon Music as U.S. Rock & Alternative Programmer.
The Killers, Machine Gun Kelly, Nirvana, Billie Eilish… Do we have your attention? ALT 98.7 is looking for that special someone who eats, sleeps, and breathes the Alternative culture and lives the lifestyle. Be a companion to the L.A. audience with your own unique spin.
But first, a few routine questions: 1) Can you skillfully combine a whole bunch of compelling content into an all-inclusive “show” — music knowledge, pop culture, and entertaining? 2) Can you crack the mic and paint a picture? 3) Do you have that innate ability to make people laugh? 4) Can you educate our listeners on the newest music and trends and make them care about it? We are NOT looking for cookie-cutter “DJs” or back-announcers. Previous PD, APD/MD experience would be a plus, and social media skillz are a must. Go ahead… tell us why you’re THE ONE.
Here’s your to-do list: 1) Produce a customized 2-3 minute aircheck of how you would sound on ALT 98.7 — the music and vibe should be on point. 2) a current aircheck, 3) social media reel, and 4) current resume, references and career highlights. Send everything for this awesome EOE position to Lisa Worden, iHeartMedia Alternative Rock Brand Manager and PD of ALT 98.7 at LisaWorden@iHeartMedia.com.
