Jenn & Bus & COVID
• In early October we told you that New South Radio Top 40 WYOY (Y101.7)/Jackson, MS had hired the duo of Jenn & Bus as the station’s new wake-up show. By all accounts, things were going very well for Jenn Ryan and Bus — for the first month — until they had the terrible misfortune of contracting full-blown COVID-19. That meant they couldn’t go to work, couldn’t move into their new apartment, had to use a lot of Uber Eats and other delivery services, and have been holed up in their hotel room while recuperating.
We are pleased to report that as of Wednesday, Nov. 18, although still under quarantine, the two felt well enough to resume their show remotely from their hotel room. As GM/Market Manager Bob Lawrence tells RAMP, “Our Chief Engineer assembled all of the necessary equipment — computers, mics, etc., and then I dropped everything off at their hotel door and ran.”
Lawrence says they were able to talk Jenn & Bus through the set-up procedure over the phone and they successfully launched Wednesday morning, sharing their compelling COVID survival stories with their listeners.
