Get Well, Dred Scott!
• CORRECTION: We are sending our most positive thoughts to Bay Area radio vet Dred Scott, morning host at California Radio Partners’ Adult Rock KOZT (The Coast)/Ft. Bragg, CA, who was involved in a serious car accident on March 7 that totaled his car and had him airlifted to a Santa Rosa, CA hospital.
Fortunately, Scott is scheduled to be released within a few days, and he’s even more fortunate that he has good friends like Greg McQuaid, his former colleague at KFOG and Live 105/San Francisco, who has established a GoFundMe account to help cover Scott’s mounting expenses in the coming weeks and months, including replacing his car. If you would like to help a radio brother, please visit GoFundMe.com.
[Ed. note]: In an earlier version of this story, we were mistakenly informed that a portion of this fund would help pay for “loss of income.” We were informed by Coast radio management that Dred is “very much remaining on payroll and getting support from the entire staff.” We regret the error.
