WQNU: Daniels Returns, Middays Open
• Kris Daniels, most recently Sr. Manager/Music Programming for Radio Disney has rejoined SummitMedia Country WQNU (Q103.1)/Louisville for mornings. She succeeds Aaron “Gator” Glass, who exited last week. The move is a radio homecoming for Daniels (pictured), a second-generation radio pro (her father is Country Radio Hall of Famer Larry Daniels), who was previously MD/morning personality at WQNU from 2008-2013. She spent the past two years with Radio Disney in Burbank until the service was shut down at the end of 2020.
Daniels’ earlier stops, primarily in the Country realm, include a stint programming online Country station Country AF Radio, preceded by a multi-year run as PD/morning host at Beasley Country KCYE (102.7 The Coyote)/Las Vegas. Her earlier radio history includes stops in Bakersfield, a stint with Johnjay & Rich at KRQQ/Tucson and a run as APD/MD/middays with iHeartMedia Country KHGE/Fresno.
• But Wait! There’s More! WQNU is actively looking for its next live and local midday superstar! Candidates should have a minimum of two years of on-air experience — PPM experience would be a plus!
You should: 1) Be able to create and communicate compelling and entertaining content; 2) Be an engaging presence in front of a crowd; 3) Have strong social media skills & be tech-savvy; 4) Have strong production and digital-editing skills; 5) have the ability to communicate in an authentic way; 6) Be a problem-solver, with sound judgment and excellent decision-making skills; 7) Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and 8) Be self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to hit deadlines.
