iHeart Selling Portsmouth, NH HQ
• iHeartMedia has put its longtime Portsmouth, NH broadcast facility on the market for $3.67 million. The 13,362 square-foot building at 815 Lafayette Road, which currently houses Mainstream Rock 100.3 WHEB, Top 40 WERZ (Z107), Country WTBU (95.3 The Bull), News-Talk WQSO (NewsRadio 96.7) and WPKX-AM (Fox Sports 930) was built in 1962 and has undergone numerous expansions and improvements since then.
According to the real estate listing on the New England Commercial Property Exchange, the building and the surrounding 21.5 acres of land make “great redevelopment opportunity with 3.7± acres of developable uplands and potential uses including a car dealership, housing development, medical building, recreation complex, and more… Property includes 2 towers, a 492’ broadcast tower and a 217’ radio tower. A double sided billboard on Route 1 is included in the sale and has an annual net operating income of approximately $66,000. Excellent location on a thriving commercial corridor within close proximity to downtown Portsmouth and I-95.”
Upon the completion of the sale, we are told that the Portsmouth stations and personnel will relocate some 50 miles west to the company’s Manchester, NH facility at 70 Foundry St.
