Cali 93.9 Bows All-Female Lineup
• Meruelo Media Latin Urban KLLI (Cali 93.9)/Los Angeles, #1 for Reggaeton y Más is proud to announce its all-female on-air lineup, the only current all-female airstaff in L.A.
“Cali’s Angels! Los Angeles de CALI!” exclaimed Haz Montana, VP, Audio Brands for Meruelo Media. “When we realized we had an all-female lineup, we just had to share it with the world, because it’s much more interesting than a headline like ‘men are finally in supporting roles,’ even if the truth hurts.”
Multi-media star Angélica Vale (known as “La Vale,” left)) starts the day from 6-10am, leading into Caro Marquez (center)in middays. Cali 93.9’s prime-time lineup now wraps up with the station’s brand new afternoon drive star — Melissa Rios (right), who this week crossed the hall from mornings on sister KPWR (Power 106).
Vale commented, “We are different women with different backgrounds and different lives, but we have CALI in common. I’m proud of my colleagues — we have all worked really hard, and are grateful L.A. connects with us and Cali 93.9.” Marquez noted, “Being among the voices and the women on the brand for ‘Reggaeton y Mas’ in L.A. is a dream,” adding, “My colleagues are bad-ass.” Rios remarked, “Life decisions can be hard, but this one was easy — especially since I don’t have to get a new parking card!”
Cali 93.9 GM & VP of Sales Irma Barrios added, “KLLI is the fastest-growing FM station in Los Angeles because of the selfless teamwork by great talent — who for the first time in prime are all female!”
