Dent Grabs The Reins Of Cincy’s Fox
• Cumulus Classic Rock WOFX (92.5 The Fox)/Cincinnati has secured its new Program Director in the form of 20-year Rock radio pro (and Cincinnati native) Steve Dent, who will continue to anchor mornings on Cumulus Active Rock WNDX (93.9X)/Indianapolis.
Dent began his radio career as a morning show intern with the legendary WEBN/Cincinnati in 1999. The following year he joined the former WXEG/Dayton, OH as a weekend personality and by 2011 had worked his way up to PD. Most recently, Dent was PD and an on-air talent for both Classic Rock WTUE & WZDA (ALT 103.9)/Dayton until Jan. 2020, when he was one of many employees caught up in the company’s widespread pandemic-related downsizing.
When introducing Dent to the staff, Jon Laing, VP/Market Manager of Cumulus Cincinnati, said, “We are thrilled to have Steve join our programming team in Cincinnati. His expertise in the Rock format, and understanding of the local market dynamics line up perfectly with our competitive strategy.”
An equally thrilled Dent commented, “I’m thrilled to have this opportunity in my hometown! 92-5 The Fox has a long Rock tradition here in Cincy with a veteran staff of pros. I’m excited to be working with my friends at The BOB & TOM Show and this amazing team at Cumulus Cincinnati. Thanks to Jon Laing, Keith Mitchell, John Dimick and Wade Linder for trusting me to continue the Rock legacy of 92-5 The Fox!”
Dent succeeds Marty Bender, who recently stepped away after a five-year run and launched his awesomely named new company, “Worst Consultant Ever.”
