Winning In The Hall Way
• Hall Communications announces a bunch of programming upgrades in the company’s Burlington, VT/Plattsburgh, NY market, starting with the promotion of 28-year Hall veteran Mark Knight (left), PD of Classic Hits WKOL (Kool 105) to Operations Manager for the cluster, which also includes Country WOKO (The Big Station), Alternative WBTZ (The Buzz), Classic Rock WIZN (The Wizard) and Adult Standards WJOY-AM. Knight fills the void left after Matt Grasso departed in August for a position outside of radio.
“Mark has shown great leadership ability throughout his career and is the right choice for this position,” said Dan Dubonnet, Hall EVP and Burlington-Plattsburgh Market Manager. “He understands what it takes to keep our brands at the top of the ratings.” Congratulate Knight at mknight@hallradio.net.
• But Wait! There’s More! WOKO APD/morning host Bill Sargent (left) is promoted to PD. Sargent joined WOKO in 1998 as an evening personality, and has co-hosted WOKO’s top rated Morning Roundup for the last 20 years.
Kevin Mays (center), APD/MD of WBTZ and WIZN has been promoted to PD of both stations. Mays has been with the group since 2004 and will continue to serve as MD for both stations. Rounding out the changes, WIZN morning host Devon McGarry (right) add APD stripes for both WIZN and WBTZ. Dubonnet added, “Mark will work closely with Bill, Kevin, Devon and the rest of our outstanding programming and promotions staff to keep the Hall Radio Group the dominant cluster in the market.” Reach Bill Sargent at wildbill@hallradio.net and Kevin Mays at mays@hallradio.net.
