Midwest Pros In Motion
• CBS Radio Hot AC WQAL (Q104)/Cleveland announced several significant personnel adjustments, starting with the news that midday personality “Average Joe” Krauss is leaving after today’s show. Joe broke the news that he and his wife and two young sons are moving closer to family in Wisconsin. “Joe will definitely be missed, but this is a move that he and his family feel is best and we’re happy for them,” said Dave Popovich, VP of Programming, CBS Radio Cleveland.
Concurrent with that revelation it was announced that station vet Aly Tanner is making the move from her co-host spot on the Jeremiah & Jeff morning show back to middays. Tanner has also done nights during her four-year tenure at Q104. Popovich said, “Aly is back at home doing middays. She loves music and hosting her own shift and this will be fun for her.”
• Mid-West Family Broadcasting makes a couple of jock moves in its Springfield, MO cluster — the action starts at Active Rock KQRA (Q102), where former MD/afternoon talent Sean Knight segues to nights across the hall on Rhythmic sibling KOSP (92.9 The Beat). Seconds later, Q102 PD Shadow points to the bullpen and promotes part-timer Robert “Baden” Page (left) to afternoon drive. Shadow tells RAMP she will absorb Q102 MD duties for now… “with a little imaging on the side,” she said.
