Free Agent: Paul Williams Exits Westwood One
• RAMP has confirmed that Paul Williams as exited as Director of Programming for Westwood One Nashville at the end of his contract. Williams was named to his post in April 2020 and was awarded PD stripes for Country WKDF/Nashville a month later. In February of this year, Cumulus re-upped VP of Country Music Charlie Cook to a long-term contract extension, retaining him as OM of Cumulus Nashville and transferring WKDF oversight to his purview.
Prior to joining Cumulus Williams served VP of Marketing & Artist Development for Reviver Entertainment Group in Nashville since Dec. 2017 — his second stint with Reviver. Before that he was Radio Editor for Country Aircheck and Northeast Radio Promotion rep for Zac Brown‘s Southern Ground Artists and Reviver. Williams earlier served as Sr. Director of Strategic Marketing for RCA Label Group Nashville.
On the radio side, Williams programmed KPLX/Dallas under Susquehanna, was Operations & Marketing Director for The Kidd Kraddick Show and spent six years as a radio liaison at Universal Orlando’s Strategic Alliance Marketing Department. Other stops include KDWB/Minneapolis, WEGX/Philadelphia, WAPW/Atlanta, WBJW/Orlando and WSSX/Charleston, SC. No replacement has been named as of yet.
