Wendy B Comes Home To Radio One Philly

• Popular Philadelphia radio personality and hip hop icon Wendy Clark, a.k.a Lady B, is making her welcome return to radio. On Tuesday, in the Mayor’s Reception Room at City Hall, the Philadelphia native announced her new radio home on Radio One Urban Oldies WPPZ (Classix 107.9), starting Monday, February 11. Lady B’s regular shift will be 9am-3pm Monday through Thursday, while she will continue to host her popular Basement Party mix with DJ Touchtone Fridays and Saturdays from 6-10pm.

The announcement marks a Radio One homecoming for Lady B, who previously did afternoon drive for Radio One Urban AC WRNB/Philadelphia until Dec. 2017. Colby “Colb” Tyner, VP of Programming for Radio One said, “Philly is known for cheesesteaks, pretzels, the Eagles and Lady B. She is one of the most dynamic voices the city has ever had. She is beloved and the city we are excited to have her back in the Radio One family.”

Lady B notably created and hosted The Street Beat, which ran on WUSL (Power 99)/Philadelphia from 1984 until 1989. In 2002 she received the “Philly Urban Legend Award” and later worked for SiriusXM in New York. Commenting on her return to Radio One, Lady B said, “I’m so blessed, excited, and appreciative that OUR voice is coming BACK to the airwaves.”
