AURN Launches AURN GAMING
• This week, American Urban Radio Networks (AURN) announced its foray into the gaming industry with the launch of AURN GAMING and its inaugural tournament in Atlanta. AURN, in partnership with Core Communicators Broadcasting and Superadio Networks nationally-syndicated morning show, Yung Joc and The Streetz Morning Takeover, has assembled some of the top Black gamers to compete for a grand prize of $10,000.
The first Black-owned media company to enter into the gaming space, AURN’s initiative began earlier this week with the launch of The Sic 60 with HipHopGamer, a daily audio feature hosted by journalist, media personality, and content creator, HipHopGamer and already cleared in 20 markets.
“We’ve had numerous advertisers inquiring about gaming and the Black gamer in particular,” said AURN CEO Chesley Maddox-Dorsey. “There are 38 million active Black/African American video game players across all ages in the U.S. Most of our audience plays video games, and AURN GAMING is another way to connect with these listeners.”
In addition to the syndicated radio feature and tournament series, AURN GAMING will stream a series of content supporting their Twitch and YouTube channels, including interviews, and the latest in tech in partnership with some of the top Black gamers in the country. You can live-stream AURN GAMING’s Red Carpet Pre-Gaming Show this Saturday at 2:30pm ET via #aurngaming on Twitch or #aurnonline via YouTube.
