Dual Promotions For EMF’s Young & West
• Educational Media Foundation (EMF), the parent ministry and programmer of the world’s two largest Christian music radio networks, K-LOVE and Air1, announces two internal promotions: Mandy Young is upped to Vice President of Radio, and Troy West is elevated to EMF Radio Program Director.
Young (left) joined EMF in 2009 and throughout her 13-year tenure has served as Air1 morning co-host, midday host, APD, MD, and in 2018, was upped to PD of Air1. In 2020, Young’s role expanded yet again when she was named EMF Radio Group PD, leading the programming for both Air1 and K-LOVE.
In her new VP role, Young reports to EMF Chief Content Officer Jim Houser, who said, “Mandy’s vision for K-LOVE and Air1, and her heart for the Gospel, has come into full focus. Her leadership in the creation of a ground-breaking worship format on Air1 and her steering of the K-LOVE on-air sound is shaping the future of both networks. With great colleagues on the team in place, Mandy is ready to bring her incredible intuition, intellect, and experience to additional pieces of EMF’s radio brands.”
Troy West (right) was hired by Young in 2021 as APD of the EMF radio group, and he now assumes her former role as PD of both K-LOVE and Air1. West brings a track record of success from his previous work as PD of KSBJ/Houston, Station Manager/PD of WJQ (JQ99)/Grand Rapids, MI, and PD of WAY-FM/West Palm Beach.
“Troy is one of the best in the business at making a station sound technically amazing,” Young said. “His care and concern for every detail makes him the perfect choice to round out our programming leadership — he has a heart for ministry and I look forward to collaborating with him to take K-LOVE and Air1 to new heights.”
