McKay Circles Back To Jersey
• After three months on the proverbial beach, we are pleased to report that Steve McKay is back in action, and back on the Jersey Shore — RAMP has confirmed that McKay has been hired by Townsquare Media as Brand Manager of AC duo WFPG (Lite 96.9)/Atlantic City and 92.7 WOBM/Monmouth-Ocean. The position has been open since Gary Guida left last year. McKay shared his good news in a weekend Facebook post, adding that he will also serve as the Assistant Director of Content for Atlantic City and do afternoon drive on Lite 96.9.
McKay had spent the past four years as PD of Cumulus AC WTCB (B106.7) and Classic Hits WOMG/Columbia, SC until he was downsized in August. “I loved SC, but it’s great to be home,” McKay posted.
McKay previously programmed Cumulus AC/Classic Rock combo WGNI & WKXS (94.5 The Hawk)/Wilmington, NC, and his extensive programming resume includes successful stops at WPTE/Norfolk, WBHT/Wilkes Barre-Scranton, PA, and the former WEJM (Jammin’ Gold)/Philadelphia. Which brings us full-circle back to the Jersey Shore, where McKay had worked at Beasley Classic Hits 100.1 WJRZ back in the day.
