Feel The Rush, San Antonio!

iHeartMedia Top 40 KXXM (Mix 96.1)/San Antonio promotes from within, upping APD/MD/afternoon talent Russell Rush to the PD chair. This marks the first PD position for Rush (pictured), who has been with the station for the past 11 years. Rush will now be responsible for the day-to-day programming operations of Mix 96.1, overseeing the station’s on-air content, digital footprint and music programming. He will report to Brian Gann, SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia’s Central Texas Region.

“Russell is extremely talented and we are thrilled to have him leading our Mix 96.1 team,” said Matt Martin, President of iHeartMedia’s Central Texas Region. “Russell embodies the CHR lifestyle and is tuned into the San Antonio market. In his not-so-spare time, Rush also hosts a weekly public affairs show that airs on all seven stations in the cluster.
