Rich Eisen To Host Marconi Awards
• Emmy-nominated broadcaster Rich Eisen will host the 2023 Marconi Radio Awards Dinner, presented by Xperi, on October 25 during NAB Show New York. Record producer and radio host DJ Scratch, who performed at last year’s event, is back by popular demand to provide live music for radio’s biggest night of the year.
In 2014, Eisen created and launched The Rich Eisen Show, which currently simulcasts on 55 Westwood One radio stations and on The Roku Channel. Eisen first came to prominence as an anchor on ESPN’s SportsCenter from 1996-2003, and host of Major League Baseball for ESPN Radio. This year, Eisen earned a Marconi Radio Award nomination for Network/Syndicated Personality of the Year.
DJ Scratch (right) has worked with some of the biggest artists in hip hop, including LL Cool J, Busta Rhymes, A Tribe Called Quest, The Wu-Tang Clan and EPMD. He has produced 19 albums that have been certified Gold, including seven that have been certified Platinum, and is a three-time Grammy Award nominee. DJ Scratch is also a champion of top DJ competitions over the years, has served as the resident DJ for three national TV shows and appeared in the Spike Lee film, Bamboozled. He currently serves as one of the DJ/hosts for the Instagram Live series VERZUZ, and co-hosts a weekday radio show with Shelley Wade on Audacy Classic Hip Hop WXBK (94.7 The Block)/New York.
“Rich Eisen and DJ Scratch are sure to entertain and keep the crowd rocking as we celebrate radio’s biggest night at the 2023 Marconi Radio Awards,” said April Carty-Sipp, NAB EVP of Industry Affairs. “We are excited to be joined once again by local broadcasters from across the country and the industry’s brightest stars as we recognize the very best in radio.” The finalists for this year’s NAB Marconi Radio Awards can be found here.
