KBLX: They’re Stressed.
A big RAMP shout-out to the Morning Dream Team at Entercom Urban AC KBLX/San Francisco — Kimmie Tee, Tony Roberts and Tony Sco — who made a bunch of viral noise this week when they turned Charlie Wilson‘s No. 1 Urban AC hit “I’m Blessed” into a parody song that we can all certainly relate to — “I’m Stressed.” The Dream Team also shot a companion video that features cameos from many station staffers, including Morning Show Super Producer J Martin Reyes and PD Elroy Smith.
Sure, the video was cool enough to stand on its own merits, but its street cred jumped up about 100 extra notches on Monday, when it came to the attention of Charlie Wilson himself, who re-tweeted the video link to his 130,000 fans with this message, “Loving this ‘I’m Stressed’ video! Shout out to the Dream Team over at @KBLX. You made my day.”
RAMP later checked in with Elroy, who was still signing autographs in the lobby for fans who recognized him from the video. Smith told us, “To watch my team pull together and collectively share ideas to make this video entertaining, was exhilarating. The office was buzzing the day that the video was shot. Now, less than a week later, to get word that Charlie Wilson has given my team the thumbs-up; their hard work has now been endorsed and recognized by of one of the greatest R&B entertainers to date. When we debuted this parody, the listeners gave The Dream Team big props; their listeners have come to expect this type of creativity and fun from them.”
