Kaplan Named PD, iHeart’s ALT 104.5/Philly

• Mike Kaplan has returned to iHeartMedia as the newly anointed at Program Director of WRFF (ALT 104.5)/Philadelphia. Amber Miller remains on board as ALT 104.5 APD/MD and will continue to hold down the 7-midnight air shift.

Kaplan will report to Derrick Corbett, Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia Philadelphia, who remarked, “We’re excited to add a programmer like Mike with a proven track record of excellence to the Philadelphia cluster. We’re happy to have him back in the company and can’t wait to watch him grow the ALT 104.5 brand.”

Kaplan is an accomplished multi-format Content Director who previously spent four years with iHeartMedia as PD of KYSR/Los Angeles, overseeing the rebrand to ALT 98.7, the radio flagship of the nationally-syndicatedThe Woody Show. Kaplan most recently worked for Audacy as Alternative Format Captain and Brand Manager of now former Alternative WNYL (ALT 92.3)/New York until it flipped to a simulcast of All-News 1010 WINSlast October. He earlier served as Brand Manager of sister KROQ/Los Angeles for two years.

Kaplan’s extensive programming resume also includes Entercom Alternative KNDD (107.7 The End) and Classic Hits KMTT (103.7 The Mountain)/Seattle, WEZB (B97) and WKBU (The Bayou)/New Orleans and KRBZ (96-5 The Buzz)/Kansas City. Earlier in his career Kaplan served as APD of Top 40 WPST/Trenton,and PD of Hot AC WJLK and Top 40 WBBO/Monmouth-Ocean, NJ.
