Rupe Named CEO, Lencore Acoustics

• Veteran programmer Chase Rupe, a 17-year veteran of Emmis Corp. has been named CEO of Emmis-owned Lencore Acoustics, described as “a leader in providing commercial noise management solutions in a variety of acoustical environments including offices, healthcare facilities, government buildings, and educational institutions.” Emmis, which has been gradually shedding its radio holdings, acquired Lencore in March 2020. Lencore is based in Huntington, NY and has 34 employees.

Rupe most recently served as Emmis SVP of Strategy and Corporate Development for the past four years, and previously in leadership roles within its former radio division, including SVP of Operations, Programming & Content. It was Rupe who notably led the Emmis team that sourced and closed the Lencore investment. Before joining Emmis in 2006, Rupe held programming roles at iHeartMedia and Cumulus.

“Chase has spent the past three years working with the Lencore team on various sales, marketing, and product development initiatives and is uniquely positioned to accelerate adoption of the company’s noise management solutions,” said Patrick Walsh, President of Emmis. “He is passionate about the value of Lencore’s technology and will work well with the Lencore team and its independent sales representatives, distributors, and integrator partners to drive adoption across Lencore’s target markets.”

Rupe remarked, “After working with our highly talented acoustical experts at Lencore the past few years, I’m convinced our noise management technology is critical to improving the lives of patients, workers, and students. I’m excited to work with our team to evangelize the importance and effectiveness of our solutions in improving productivity and privacy.”
