Michaels Named Brand Mgr., Jack FM/Austin

• Austin-based Recharge Media is proud to announce the hire of major market veteran Jay Michaels as Brand Manager of Adult Hits KJFK-AM/FM (96.3 Jack FM)/Austin-Llano, TX.

Recharge CEO Daryl O’Neal said, “Jack FM has built a weekly audience here in Austin from the ground up over the past couple of years. We are thrilled to have Jay engage those fans who have been with us from the beginning, and introduce even more people to the power of Jack FM.”

Michaels is already well acquainted with the Austin market, having most recently worked for crosstown Waterloo Media as PD of Triple A Austin City Limits Radio (KGSR-HD2) and Rhythmic Hot AC KGSR (Lucy 93.3) until it flipped to Latino 93.3. Before that he worked for NRG Media Omaha as PD of Hot AC KQKQ (Sweet 98.5), Rhythmic KOPW (Power 106.9) and Adult Hits KOOO (101.9 The Keg).

During a previous Austin stint, Michaels programmed Sinclair Rhythmic KDHT (Hot 93.3). His radio resume includes stints with KVIL, KJKK, KDMX & KDGE/Dallas, KHFI/Austin, and KRBE/Houston. He also worked in artist management with Larry Rudolph in Los Angeles. Earlier in his career Michaels was OM of Sinclair’s WROX & WUSH/Norfolk, VA.
