Novosad: Lifetime Of Lafayette Achievement
• Bobby Novosad, a popular radio presence in the Lafayette, LA market for more than four decades, Brand Manager of Top 40 94.5 KSMB and Country 99.1 KXKC and longtime host of Bobby Novosad in the Morning on KSMB, has been recognized by the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters (LAB) with a Prestige Award for Lifetime Achievement. Novosad was honored at the LAB’s 2024 Prestige Awards on Friday, March 22 at the Marriott in Baton Rouge, LA.
Scott Chiasson, VP/Market Manager, Cumulus Lafayette, said, “Being from Lafayette, I’ve listened to Bobby Novosad since the beginning of his long career. He exemplifies the highest level of excellence in broadcasting. It has been a tremendous pleasure to work with Bobby the last seven years since I have been back in my hometown as Vice President/Market Manager for Cumulus. The Louisiana Association of Broadcasters Lifetime Achievement Award is a big deal, and there is no one more deserving than Bobby Novosad. Congratulations, Bobby — and onward and upward!”
Novosad commented, “I never imagined in my career that I would win an award for enjoying something that I wanted to do since the age of five. Growing up in Houston, I would scan the FM and AM dial every day and night, listening to some of the best radio in the U.S. I watched my mom listen and laugh to the morning shows. She would call in to win money (she won several times) from KIKK-FM in Houston. My senior year in high school, the school won a jukebox for the lunchroom from 104.1 KRBE. I even helped counted the ballots! Thank you to the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters, Cumulus Media, my team here in Lafayette, my listeners, as well as those that I have worked with over the years. This is my ‘hobby,’ and my passion.”
