Bo Matthews On The Loose

RAMP has confirmed another Alpha Media budget-related personnel departure — Bo Matthews has exited as OM/PD of Alpha Media’s Bay Country simulcast — 94.5 KBAY/San Jose and 92.1 KKDV/Walnut Creek, CA, and Hot AC KEZR (Mix 106.5)/San Jose.

Matthews joined Alpha Media in early 2018 as Operations Manager of the company’s Dayton, OH cluster and Content Director of Adult Hits WGTZ (92.9 Jack FM) and Classic Country WCLI (101.5 Hank FM). He was formally named Programming & Operations Director of the San Jose cluster in May 2022, shortly after the launch of Bay Country.

Earlier in his career Matthews spent more than 13 years with iHeartMedia, primarily in Ohio, where he rose to SVP of Programming for the iHeartMedia Markets Group in Cincinnati and Dayton. Matthews started his radio career with Jacor in Youngstown, OH, and ascended through the programming ranks with Clear Channel and iHeartMedia with stops in Ft. Myers and Jacksonville, and notably spent a decade Cleveland as PD of WMMS and WAKS until January 2014, when he accepted the promotion and transfer to Cincinnati.

Matthews is currently based in Nashville and seeking his next programming opportunity — contact him at bo@bomatthews.com.
