15 Candles On Sports Hub’s Cake

• Beasley Sports-Talk WBZ-FM (98.5 The Sports Hub)/Boston, will celebrate its 15-year anniversary on the air next week! As part of this landmark achievement, all next week the station will feature introspections on-air, on its YouTube channel, and all social media platforms.

The Sports Hub launched on August 13, 2009, with replays of the New England Patriots’ 2001, 2003 & 2004 Super Bowl-winning radio broadcasts, followed by the inaugural Felger & Mazz show. Launched on an FM signal (a rarity at the time for a Sports-Talk radio station), The Sports Hub quickly rose through the ranks in the Boston ratings and was quickly recognized among the top Sports-Talk radio stations in the country.

Throughout its 15-year history, The Sports Hub has received numerous industry accolades, including the NAB Marconi Award for “Sports Station of the Year” in 2011, 2014, 2019 and 2023.

As the official flagship radio station for the New England Patriots, Boston Celtics, Boston Bruins and New England Revolution, the Sports Hub has been a part of an unprecedented run of championships in Boston, many of which aired live on the station. Continually top-rated shows, outstanding talent and loyal listeners have all contributed to the overall success of The Sports Hub over its 15-year history.

“For me, being with the station since day one, I have always felt proud and privileged to be a part of the Sports Hub team these past 15 years,” said Program Director Rick Radzik. “We look forward to celebrating the milestone all next week on air and online with many stories and recollections from our on-air talent.”

Mary Menna, Beasley RVP and Boston Market Manager, remarked, “I am so proud of this amazing team, most of who have been here from the beginning, and have built and grown this amazing brand that is intrinsically intertwined with Boston sports history for the past 15 years.”
