Kathy Romano: B101’s New ‘Queen Bee’

• Audacy AC WBEB (B101)/Philadelphia has availed itself of the valuable market equity possessed by Kathy Romano, hiring her to helm a brand new morning show — The Kathy Romano Show debuts on Sept. 23, co-hosted by Romano and existing co-host Bobby Smith, along with Executive Producer Laura Boss. Romano will also host a solo midday show, weekdays from 10am-noon, followed by Bill Tafrow from noon-7pm. That’s Romano (center), bookended by Boss and Smith.

Romano is a beloved voice in the Philadelphia market, best known for her highly successful 22-year run as a core member of The Preston & Steve Show across the street on Beasley’s WMMR until May of this year. Romano had also hosted the community affairs show Her Story, which aired on WMMR and sister WBEN-FM, and for the past 16 years has notably spearheaded Kathy’s Cuts to benefit Wigs for Kids.
