Bert Weiss Announces Retirement
• In a surprising turn of events, Bert Weiss announced that, after 25 years on air, he will will retire as host of the Atlanta-based, nationally syndicated The Bert Show, effective with his final broadcast on Friday, Oct. 24, 2025. Listen to his announcement HERE.
“For 25 years, listeners have allowed me to be part of their mornings, their commutes and their lives — and that is the greatest gift of my career,” said Weiss. “It’s almost unheard of in radio for an audience to stay with a show this long, and I’ll never take that loyalty for granted. Every laugh, every tough conversation and every shared moment has meant the world to me.”
Weiss’ career has been recognized with inductions into the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame and Friends of Georgia Radio Hall of Fame, multiple Radio Hall of Fame nominations and numerous “Best of Atlanta” honors.
Beyond broadcasting, Weiss’ legacy is defined by giving back — through his nonprofit, Bert’s Big Adventure, he has provided hundreds of children with chronic and terminal illnesses — and their families — with all-expenses-paid trips to Walt Disney World, creating memories that last far beyond a single broadcast. Following his retirement, Weiss will continue to lead the organization, ensuring its mission remains central to his life’s work.
