• Scrappy Americana-formatted WNEX (100.9 The Creek)/Macon, GA is looking for an equally scrappy, results-oriented GM who can get fired up about the one-of-a-kind opportunity to reimagine and revitalize this station under the new and independent ownership of destination management organization, Visit Macon.
The position calls for a community-focused leader to show up and develop and implement strategic plans to grow the revenue base, audience and content of 100.9 The Creek. We want a winner who loves to break sales records, but who can also think innovatively about programming American roots music through the lens of place.
Macon, Georgia, one of the South’s most influential music cities, is a growing music tourism destination and Visit Macon envisions 100.9 The Creek as a multi-platform music experience that, through broadcast, streaming, digital and strategic partnerships, can not only grow listening audience engagement and loyalty, but also attract visitors.
Top on our list of skills are strong financial management, a stellar sales/advertising track record, experience in overseeing daily operations, a creative approach to programming and content development, and the ability to manage a supportive environment that firmly sets expectations while also inspiring ownership, dependability and trust. On-air experience is preferred. Salary range $52-$58k + excellent benefits.
