Radio One Optimizes Charlotte Cluster

• Radio One, Inc. announces multiple frequency moves to “optimize” its Charlotte cluster — in particular, to seriously boost the coverage of News-Talk WBT-FM. The action begins next Thursday, Dec. 11, as WBT-FM moves up from 99.3 to the monster 100,000-watt signal at 107.9, the current home of Hot AC sister WLNK (Mix 107.9).

Mix will henceforth be available on two new frequencies: the aforementioned 99.3, as well as on 100.9 FM, where Inspirational WPZS (Praise 100.9) currently resides. While 100.9 will take on new WMXG calls, Praise will move to 610 WFNZ and 102.5 (W273DA) & WOSF-HD2, replacing Urban 102.5 The Block, which will be exiting the market. Rest assured that all existing programming and your favorite personalities will make the move as well.

“We are thrilled to elevate WBT to the FM dial, ensuring that even more listeners can connect with the voices they trust every day,” said Marsha Landess, VP/GM of Radio One Charlotte. “These moves further strengthen our position in the market and reinforce our commitment to serving Charlotte with the best local programming, news, and entertainment.”
