BBC Introducing Itself To Tennessee

Introducing in America will be hosted from WUTK (90.3 The Rock) at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and co-anchored by Sherleen Mwaura and Cade Beasley. Each show will also feature another campus radio station, starting with Vanderbilt University’s WRVU.
Each Introducing in America show will spotlight local, independent artists from Tennessee, as well as an artist from the UK, giving up-and-coming UK acts a platform in the US. The first UK artist to be spotlighted on BBC Introducing in America will be Nectar Woode, who was first supported by BBC Introducing in 2022 and performed on the BBC Introducing stage at Glastonbury in 2025.
New musicians and artists from Tennessee will be able to submit their music to HERE to have a chance to get their track played on the radio.
Rob Quicke, Founder of the College Radio Foundation, commented, “College radio in the USA continues to play an important role in discovering and championing new music, so partnering with BBC Introducing in America is an excellent and exciting opportunity for us. It will give our student presenters an incredible, unprecedented experience!” Rob Quicke, Lori Quicke, and Tim Craig from the College Radio Foundation will serve as Executive Producers of BBC Introducing in America, which will be available to stream starting today at collegeradio.org.
• In addition to WUTK and WRVU, stations supporting BBC Introducing in America, Tennessee include: 88.5 WVCP (Volunteer State College); WUMC (Milligan University); The Perch (University of Tennessee at Chattanooga); WTTU (Tennessee Tech University); WETS-FM (East Tennessee State University); 88.3 WMTS (Middle Tennessee State University); and WUTM (90.3 The Hawk) at the University of Tennessee at Martin.
