Chicago Pros On The Loose

• Yesterday we reported that, because of Audacy’s impending Feb. 2 flip of Throwback WBMX (104.3 JAMS)/Chicago to a simulcast of Sports-Talk WSCR-AM (670 The Score)/Chicago, the human cost of this move was the departure of 104.3 JAMS morning personality Jennifer “Jen BT” Farina and Commercial Production Director Rebecca Ortiz.

• Farina (left), a Chicago native, originally joined The Ed Lover Morning Show alongside Hip Hop Hall of Famer Ed Lover on 104.3 JAMS in April 2018, shortly after the station launched. When Lover left in Sept. 2022, Farina took solo command of the Jams Throwback Mornings with Jen BT. Farina was previously APD at WNUA (95.5 El Patron) and 97.5 ESPN Deportes and earlier served as a Programming Assistant at iHeartMedia Chicago.

Jen BT can be reached at jenbarryter@gmail.com and on Instagram.

• Ortiz (right) is a 17-year company veteran who started as a weekender at B96 in March 2008 and was upped to middays that November. In 2010 she was named morning co-host over on AC WCFS (Fresh 105.9) — which last a year until the station flipped to a simulcast of WBBM-AM. Ortiz returned to B96 in various dayparts until 2020 when she was named Production Director. She also hosted the community service show Chicago Connection that ran from 2011-present on B96, JAMS, and US99.

Ortiz is now seeking her next challenge and can be reached at rebeccaortiz@hotmail.com, and find her on socials @RadiobecChicago.
