Remembering DJ Mike D

• Michael Raymond Naoki Adachi, better known as “DJ Mike D,” one of the industry’s most prolific remixers, passed away Monday, March 9. He was only 43.

Born and raised in Honolulu, later living in Las Vegas, Atlanta, and most recently, Cleveland, Mike D started his career at KHPW/Honolulu as a Mixer/Production pro, and was soon producing music and DJing at clubs all over the U.S. As the bio on his remix site so accurately states: “DJ Mike D is a highly talented and accomplished music producer, DJ, sound engineer, and audio recording expert. He has been making music for over two decades, and his skills and experience have allowed him to create some of the most memorable tracks in the industry. With an ear for detail and a keen understanding of music production, DJ Mike D has become one of the most sought-after producers in the business. He has worked with numerous artists, helping them create top-quality music that resonates with fans around the world.”

Mike is survived by his mother, Mary Adachi, and brother Chris. A Celebration of Life for Mike D will be held on Wednesday, March 18 at 4pm at Jardine Funeral Home, 15822 Pearl Road, Strongsville, OH 44136.
