• This has certainly been a great few weeks for Interscope — “Stay” by Zedd & Alessia Cara (Def Jam/Interscope) is now spending its fourth week at No. 1, followed very closely by “It Ain’t Me” by Kygo & Selena Gomez (Ultra/RCA/Interscope), which is currently enjoying its third week at No. 2. Oh, and this marks Interscope’s third consecutive week holding the No. 1 and 2 chart positions on the Mediabase Top 40 chart. Congrats to Brenda Romano, Chris Lopes, Don Coddington, Mark Neiter, Chris Moradi and the entire Interscope crew!
• We expect the official announcement to drop today, but RAMP has thoughtfully jumped the gun to excitedly spread the word that veteran Promotions Goddess Susan Reynolds has been named as the new Director of Marketing & Promotions for the iHeartMedia cluster in Portland, OR. The moves marks a full-circle radio homecoming for Soooooz (left), who in the early ’90s served as Marketing & Promotions Director for iHeartMedia’s KKCW (K103)/Portland when it was owned by Trumper. She later served as Marketing Director for CBS Radio Portland from 1996 through 2009, when the stations were sold to Alpha Media.
After more recent adventures in Montreal and New York, Reynolds relocated back to her beloved Portland last month. “To say that I’m excited about this is the understatement of the century!” Reynolds tells RAMP. “Not only am I back in Portland, but will be working with an amazing team (including many former colleagues) at the best stations in the market. If I’m dreaming, please don’t wake me up!”
• The TeshMedia Group is thrilled to announce its new affiliation with American Forces Network, effective immediately. The John Tesh Radio Show / Intelligence For Your Life Radio, joins AFN Radio’s “Today’s Best Hits” channel for middays.
Scott E. Stover, Radio Director for the American Forces Network stated, “American Forces Network Radio is proud to bring John Tesh’s syndicated radio show, Intelligence For Your Life, to our U.S. military serving overseas as they listen to AFN Radio’s ‘Today’s Best Hits’ Adult Contemporary channel. We thank The John Tesh Radio Show for partnering with AFN Radio to ‘serve those that serve.'”
Tesh commented, “We are thrilled to be partnering with AFR. I know from reading my father’s WWII diary that he and his shipmates aboard the U.S.S Panamint, an amphibious force command ship, listened to big band music non stop on AFR and credited it with keeping them connected and with steadfast purpose. It’s my honor to preserve that connection in his name.”
