WGCI/Chicago Presents ‘Tone Kapone Day’
• iHeartMedia’s 107.5 WGCI/Chicago proudly announces Tone Kapone Day, the first-ever live celebration honoring longtime WGCI afternoon host Tone Kapone. This special event is happening Friday, May 29, at the House of Blues Chicago.
Built around Tone Kapone’s personality, passion, and strong connection with listeners, Tone Kapone Day brings the station’s on‑air excitement to life through a high‑energy party atmosphere — complete with DJs, surprise special guest appearances, and a live performance by R&B artist Jacquees. The event will be hosted — naturally — by Tone Kapone, and will also feature his What More Can I Say podcast co‑hosts Keke and Zach Boog.
“Tone Kapone Day will celebrate music, culture and community while honoring a radio legend who is integral to not only WGCI, but the entire city of Chicago,” said Kashon Powell, VP of Programming.
The inaugural event is expected to draw more than 1,000 attendees for a night of music, culture and community. Doors open at 8pm, with the show running from 9pm-1am. Tickets are available for $42.50 plus fees and can be purchased at Ticketmaster.
