Wenger Leaving Audacy For What’s Next

• Veteran Western New York radio executive Tim Wenger announced he will be leaving his position as SVP/Market Manager with Audacy Buffalo at the end of this month.

Back in April the company announced it was consolidating its leadership structure by eliminating of the traditional Market Manager role in favor of a group of 10 Regional Vice Presidents, all reporting to a group of five Regional Presidents. While Wenger was offered other roles to remain with the company, he has elected to pursue opportunities elsewhere.

Wenger began his broadcasting career at WRVO at his alma mater, SUNY/Oswego, and after a stint at WBFO/Buffalo, he joined News-Talk WBEN-AM 930 in 1986, rising through the ranks from helicopter traffic reporter, News Director, Program Director, and Operations Manager. Through various ownership changes, which began in 2000, Wenger was subsequently promoted to News-Talk Format VP for Audacy and SVP/Market Manager for Buffalo and Rochester, NY.

Wenger, who was inducted into the Buffalo Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2023, is married to Susan Rose, also a BBA Hall of Fame member, who remains the morning news anchor and a reporter for WBEN. Wenger can be contacted at timothycwenger@gmail.com. [Special thanks to the Buffalo Broadcasters Association]
