iHeart Pittsburgh Moving, Downsizing

• In what may be a preview of the shrinking post-pandemic commercial real estate market, iHeartMedia Pittsburgh has signed a lease to relocate its headquarters from its longtime location on 200 Fleet Street in the city’s Green Tree section to “Beacon I,” an 80,000-square-foot office building about ten miles southeast in South Fayette owned by Burns Scalo Real Estate.

According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, iHeartMedia will be leasing 9,400 square feet on the first floor of the $16 million office building in the Abele Business Park. While that’s smaller than its current location, the paper reports the new space “will include significant upgrades.”

iHeartMedia plans to begin the buildout of the space this month and will move into its new headquarters in the third quarter of 2021. The cluster consists of Classic Rock WDVE, Classic Hits WWSW (94.5 3WS), Alternative WXDX (105.9 The X), Top 40 WKST (96.1 Kiss), Country WPGB (BIG 104.7), Sports-Talk WBGG (970 ESPN) and Talk WJAS-AM (1320 & 99.1), along with various HD sub-channels.
