Martinez Upped To PD/MD, KMRJ/Palm Springs

• Marker Broadcasting Palm Springs announced that Chase Martinez has been elevated to the dual role of PD/MD for Rhythmic Hot AC KMRJ (Jammin’ 99.5)/Rancho Mirage, “Old School & Throwbacks.” He will continue to do middays.

Martinez brings decades of music and broadcasting experience to his new leadership role. He’s been a working mobile and club DJ for more than 40 years and has spent nearly 20 years in radio broadcasting, giving him an extensive background in music, entertainment, programming, and connecting with audiences.

Martinez assumes his new role following the passing of Mike Marino in July. “Mike’s contributions, leadership, and dedication to KMRJ Jammin’ 99.5 will be remembered with great respect, and his impact on the station, its listeners, and the Coachella Valley community will not be forgotten,” the company said in a statement.

“It’s an honor to take on the role of Program Director and Music Director at Jammin’ 99.5,” Martinez said. “Mike Marino left some big shoes to fill, and I have tremendous respect for what he contributed to this station. My goal is to honor what Mike helped build while continuing to move Jammin’ 99.5 forward. Music and radio have been a huge part of my life for decades, and I’m excited to bring that experience and passion to this position. Most importantly, I want Jammin’ 99.5 to continue being a station that truly connects with our listeners and the Coachella Valley community.”
